Better Together: A Celebration of Belonging
** Back again this year - the popular Silent Disco! **
This annual event celebrates belonging as students share and learn about their unique cultures and identities. This is a great chance to help your child(ren) connect with and share their social identities, which JeffCo names as “race, class, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability, and language.” Students are invited to create a display board, video or performance to share with others that evening.
Some ideas: share food, music, or a dance from your family's ethnic heritage; lead an activity that gives others the experience of neurodiversity (e.g., autism or ADHD); share something you are proud of about your gender story or another area of your social identity.
BUILD DAY for CREATING YOUR POSTER (optional)
Wednesday, April 16th from 3:35-5pm with Mr. Kramer in the Art Room. We will have teachers and other parents available to help your child create their display. Or just stop by to grab materials, if you'd prefer to make the display at home.
Western on Washington
As the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Western on Washington (WoW) pays for all the enrichment programs, events, and resources that the school budget doesn't cover. Without WoW, these beloved PTA-funded programs will simply go away. We need your help to make WoW happen in 2025! Contact chair Renee Maxwell (renee.nicole.maxwell@gmail.com) for a list of available volunteer opportunities and to join our Zoom meeting on Oct. 10.
Mitchell Food & Hygiene Drive
Please help us collect non-perishable foods and hygiene products. We are partnering with the Golden Food Pantry to help feed many families in need within our Golden Community.
MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
Tomato sauce, PB and jelly, pasta, soups, canned fruits, canned meat, toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, body wash
Bob's Atomic Burgers Giveback Night
Show up, eat burgers! Mitchell PTA will get 10% of all daily sales, both in-store or online. No promo code necessary.
Gold Mine Cupcakes Giveback Week
Order online from Feb. 10-14 and select “Mitchell Elementary” from the School Fundraiser field for 20% of profits to be donated to Mitchell PTA! Also applies to in-store orders. Must fill out the field!
MLK Week of Giving & Service
Drop off new or gently used clothing, shoes, toys, books and essential home goods in bins in the school entryway.
Winter Clothing Drive
Do you have gently-used clothing in sizes 3T to adult? Please consider donating them during the week of September 23 during the Mitchell PTA Clothing Drive. Please bring clothes to school, where there will be bins available for drop-off each day. All donations will be given to the Serving Kids Program, which provides new and nearly-new clothing to Jeffco school children from Pre-K through high school who are in need. Donations should be new or clean and in good repair. Items in greatest need are sneakers, winter coats, snow boots, pants and tops, and winter hats and gloves in all sizes. 18th Annual Golden Schools Foundation Golden Gallop
“Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden, where the west RUNS!”
The Golden Gallop will be on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Golden’s biggest annual race will take place for the 18th year running! We look forward to seeing everyone on our same great course through downtown under the Golden 'Welcome' arch, with the start and finish at Golden High School.
This Golden Gallop will lead it's runners on 5k and 10k loops as in previous year.
